It took me long enough, but I finally optimized this image enough to be under 100kb. That means that if your ipod touch or iphone (up to 3GS) is jailbroken properly, you could set this to display whenever you power it on from being shut down.
Not that anyone but myself would use it, of course.
looks amazing! I was interested in getting my iPod Touch (2nd gen) jailbroken so that i could set a background picture instead of the default blackness (which is only possible on gen 3+ for some odd reason??) I've hacked my psp to custom firmware before, but I'm very cautious about jailbreaking an iDevice ;
the good thing about jailbreaking an iDevice is that if you have a backup on itunes it's extremely easy to recover it. If installing a custom firmware puts it into recovery mode, you can easily restore it with itunes.
thanks~ I'm wondering how it works though, do i need to visit some sort of site on the device? or use some sort of program when it's connected to the pc? iDevices are strange things...
you need to follow some special steps to get your device in a certain type of recovery mode, then you need to use itunes and shift-click the restore button to select firmware from a file.
